Faux Fur is Haute!
It's been quit some time since we've seen fur so readily available in stores. Has years of criticism come to an end? Maybe not quit, as we must remain conscious to animal cruelty and inhumane acts to our furry beloved's but perhaps the harm is lessor when you buy vintage. I am by no means in support of harming animals to have a pretty coat, but I can't change the past and would like to honor what is beautiful.
My original thought to this blog was to post fashionable items that are both authentic fur and faux fur but after further reading on peta.org the acts that are placed upon the animals to obtain their coat, I can no longer support some of our great designers decision to manufacture new fur products. Instead, I've found great high-end fur alternatives that will keep you up-to-date in your wardrobe and very guiltless. I think you'll enjoy them as much as I do.
Sanctuary $67.99
Sanctuary $158
Rebecca Taylor $435
Safe places to obtain your vintage and used fur products include your grandmothers closet, eBay, and local consignment shops. Shop responsibly!
