Faux Fur is Haute!

It's been quit some time since we've seen fur so readily available in stores.  Has years of criticism come to an end?  Maybe not quit, as we must remain conscious to animal cruelty and inhumane acts to our furry beloved's but perhaps the harm is lessor when you buy vintage.  I am by no means in support of harming animals to have a pretty coat, but I can't change the past and would like to honor what is beautiful.

My original thought to this blog was to post fashionable items that are both authentic fur and faux fur but after further reading on peta.org the acts that are placed upon the animals to obtain their coat, I can no longer support some of our great designers decision to manufacture new fur products.  Instead, I've found great high-end fur alternatives that will keep you up-to-date in your wardrobe and very guiltless.  I think you'll enjoy them as much as I do.

Sanctuary $67.99

Michael Kors $140

Sanctuary $158

Rebecca Taylor $435

Safe places to obtain your vintage and used fur products include your grandmothers closet, eBay, and local consignment shops.  Shop responsibly!

Gifts for HIM this season

It's always a little bit challenging to shop for him on his birthday or holidays but hopefully these gifts will inspire you to buy what's perfect for him.

For these winter cold months, I found the below printed sweatshirt and cardigan which can be layered with the right scarf and/or over coat.  And the below accessories are simply stand alone pieces that really don't need much embellishment to get their well deserved attention.  Don't be afraid to get a little flashy.

Invested with Black and White Stripes

I've always been a huge fan of black and white stripes.  I think it's bold and a reflection of strength; stripes are timeless and classic which means it can stay in your closet for a long time (until you've worn the heck out of it) and wear it through all of the seasons (in most cases).

Here are our top striped picks that are in stores now!
